Just went over some Deadlift techniques with the kids this morning.
Big thanks to my friend, Pete DeLaRosa for allowing me to come coach these kids.

Pictures from the "USAPL Oregon state powerlifting championship" (Portland, OR)

Stoked to win the "Best Male Lifter" award.
Especially when there is a bottle of beer in it!

Post-contest meal at Pine State Biscuits
This place was so ONO!  You gotta check it out in SE Portland.

"Mahalos" to my family & friends who came out to cheer me on!
Love you all!

Won the Open Men & Master's 1b (45-49 years old) classes and broke 3 Washington state records in the squat, deadlift and Total.  Also won "Best Male Lifter" for the contest.
But more importantly, I qualified for the "USAPL Raw National Championship" that will be held in Atlanta later this October.  Much more work to be done so that I can improve.  Mahalos to Bulky Boy Clothing for all your support!

Video of HIGA's lifts at the "USAPL Oregon state powerlifting championship"

I accidentally deleted my 3rd attempt Bench Press, so it's not on this video.  Fortunate to win the Open & Masters 45-49 years old division in the 125+ kg weight class.  And broke the Washington state records in the squat, deadlift & Total.  Also won the "Best Male Lifter" of the day.

"Mahalos" to braddah Allen Velasco of Kent CrossFit/Interurban Athletics for videotaping all my attempts!
