HIGA is headed to Vegas for the "Mr Olympia" Expo

HIGA MONSTER is coming to rock "THE CAGE" in Las Vegas!

I'm off to the airport to fly to Las Vegas for the "Mr Olympia" weekend.  http://www.mrolympia.com/

I will be working in the Animal Pak booth on Friday and Saturday, and will be doing a Log Press demonstration in "THE CAGE" at 2pm PST Friday.

All of us at the Animal Pak booth will be in full force supporting our brother Erik "The House" Fankhouser as he competes in the Mr Olympia contest on Saturday night.

Brian Shaw finishes 2nd overall in the "World's Strongest Man" contest! (Sun City, South Africa)

Bulky Boy athlete Brian "The Mammoth" Shaw just completed the "World's Strongest Man" contest in Sun City, South Africa.
He placed 2nd overall.  Brian finished 3rd overall last year, so its only a matter of time when he can win this prestigious contest.
Defending champion Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania won his 2nd straight "World's Strongest Man" title.
There were 3 events today, and here are the details.

WHISKEY BARREL FRAME CARRY

3. Stefan Solvi Petursson (Iceland) 34.8 secs
4. Brian Shaw (USA) 40.4 secs

1. Brian Shaw (USA) & Zydrunas Savickas (Lithuania) tied for the win with 11 reps

Even though Brian won the Atlas Stones, he and Zydrunas were tied in overall points.
So they had to go to a countback and Zydrunas won because he had one more 2nd place than Brian.  DAMN!

We at Bulky Boy are proud of Brian for his 2nd place at World's Strongest Man.  He will one day win this prestigious title and bring it home.  The kid is still young and is very hungry to win.

1. Brian Shaw (USA) winner.  Its rumoured to be a new World Record, but its not confirmed.

Bristol Marunde wins his M-1 Global debut!

Bristol Marunde (right) at the weigh-ins yesterday in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Bulky Boy athlete Bristol Marunde won a unanimous decision over Shane Primm tonight at the "M-1 Selections 2010-Americas Finals".

Bristol text me tonight at 7:36pm PST saying, "Destroyed him bro!  He last all three rounds.  I dropped him right away, then I leg kicked him till he couldn't walk!"

Bristol is originally from Sequim, WA and currently lives in Las Vegas.  He is a Middleweight fighter that trains at Xtreme Couture MMA.
All of us at Bulky Boy are proud of Bristol!  I am planning to see him and his newborn baby boy when I am in Las Vegas next weekend!

Seattle Storm are the WNBA world champions!

A big congratulations to our Seattle Storm who won the WNBA title last night in Atlanta!

Congratulations again to our Seattle Storm!  20-0 at home this season, and they are the first WNBA team to win/sweep all of their post-season games.  They were 7-0 in the playoffs.

HIGA 100 reps squats (Jesse Marunde's birthday tribute)

Jesse Marunde would have been 31 years old today.  Happy Birthday big bro...you are always missed.

I did 5 sets of 20 reps squats in his honor. Total of 100 reps before 6am PST
(135 lbs, 185 lbs, 205 lbs, 215 lbs, 225 lbs)
I wanted to do a heavier set of 20 reppers, but my legs are still trashed from doing the "Warrior Dash" this past weekend.  His memory pushed me through it.
